The main difference with laser treatment is that a fast and accurate ray is used instead of a scalpel. The advantage of laser techniques is that the laser light energy is so short-lived that:
- it reduces the temperature effect on the tissue and reduces the patient’s pain;
- laser radiation seals the blood vessels at the point of exposure, allows you to get an almost bloodless incision;
- laser radiation kills microflora and reduces the probability of postoperative complications;
- an important advantage is that scar tissue does not form after the laser, a “smooth seam” is formed, which allows to achieve high aesthetic results.
We use laser in periodentistry:
- to remove fibromas and papillomas;
- to negate gum hypertrophy;
- in surgical and non-surgical debridement;
- in vestibuloplasty;
- in gum surgeries (gingivectomy, gingivoplasty);
- frenuloplasty.
